Export Shipping Coordinator

Elevation Recruitment - Business Support Division are exclusively partnered with a global manufacturer in Rotherham in their search for a Export Shipping Coordinator to join them on a permanent basis

• Permanent - Full Time 9am- 5pm
• Up to £29,000 pa
• 25 days holiday + BH

As an Export Shipping Coordinator you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and timely coordination of export shipping and transport, both domestically and internationally. You will work closely with sales, production, and other internal teams to provide the best possible service for our customers, ensuring that all shipments are handled smoothly and in full compliance with legal regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and implement export shipping and transportation plans.
• Book transportation and work closely with sales and production teams to ensure timely dispatch of goods once a ready date is confirmed.
• Prepare, check, and send shipping documents to customers and agents.
• Maintain regular communication with customers, keeping them updated on shipment status and addressing any queries.
• Provide forwarders/hauliers with clear shipping instructions.
• Advise customers of shipping details and estimated arrival times (ETAs), with proactive updates on any changes.
• Ensure the preparation of all necessary documents for the safe and compliant delivery of goods and prompt payment receipt.
• Manage both domestic and international transportation logistics.
• Stay up to date on legislative changes affecting customs compliance and transport regulations.
• Maintain accurate records to ensure a complete audit trail for all shipments.
• Work closely with internal departments, customers, and agents to deliver an optimal level of service.

Key Requirements:

• Experience in export shipping coordination or a similar logistics role.
• Strong knowledge of domestic and international transportation procedures.
• Familiarity with customs regulations and compliance.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Proficiency in relevant software tools and shipping systems.
• Flexibility to manage a variety of tasks and cover different functions within the team.
