Skyscanner are looking for an experienced Platform Engineer in Scotland for a role based at our amazing Skyscanner offices in Glasgow!
Join Skyscanner and work with world class engineers who are innovating and pushing the boundaries of cloud native computing! We need your expertise to help us do something great for our travellers: make booking stays and journeys more sustainable and straightforward. This involves technical challenges and the latest technology, from optimising resource utilisation and cloud services to advanced container orchestration.
Who You Are:
- Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure services, particularly AWS.
- Experience working with GitOps
- Write clean, well composed and tested infrastructure-as-code
- Hands-on experience in applying or working with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform and CloudFormation within AWS
- Comfortable with at least two of the following programming/scripting languages such as Python, Go, Bash
- Hands-on experience in applying or enabling containers and container orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS EKS etc.)
- Hands-on experience in applying or enabling the use of observability technologies like Prometheus or New Relic.
- Experience in managing Kubernetes clusters in a production environment

Requirements:
- 2+ years developing and managing Kubernetes environments
- 2+ years of experience in an SRE or Operations role
- Personable, approachable, and keen to drive our adoption of newer technologies and techniques
- Experience working with GitOps
- Write clean well composed and tested infrastructure-as-code
Skyscanner is a hybrid working company and most roles can be either Full Time or Part Time. We believe when people meet regularly in person, we are better able to innovate, learn, collaborate and inspire. We ask people to be in the office 2 days per week or an average of 8 days per month.
