JN Technical are recruiting an experiencedBusiness Development Manager(*remote based*) on behalf of a UK steel fabricator. In this you will be responsible for driving new business opportunities and maintaining strong relationships with existing clients within the steel fabrication industry. You will play a key role in expanding our client base by identifying market trends, generating leads, and developing strategies to achieve sales targets. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in steel fabrication with a proven ability to develop and execute business growth strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development and Sales:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities across the commercial, industrial and energy sectors.
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies to meet or exceed revenue targets.
- Research and evaluate market trends, competitor offerings, and client needs to identify potential business opportunities.
- Generate leads through networking, industry events and trade shows.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring excellent service and support throughout the sales process.
- Conduct regular client meetings, site visits, and presentations to showcase company capabilities.
Strategic Planning:
- Prepare regular sales forecasts and performance reports to monitor progress against targets and identify areas for improvement.
Marketing and Networking:
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to raise the companys profile and build industry relationships.
- Keep up-to-date with relevant industry regulations, standards, and best practices.
Collaboration and Teamwork:
- Liaise with internal teams (production, engineering, estimating, project management) to ensure client requirements are understood and met.
- Work with the estimating team to develop accurate project quotes and proposals.
- Support ongoing customer service efforts by troubleshooting client concerns and ensuring prompt issue resolution.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience:5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or account management within the steel fabrication industry.
- Knowledge:Strong understanding of the UK steel fabrication market, including relevant sectors.
- Skills:
- Proven ability to generate new business and manage client relationships.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong organisation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
