Job Description

Here at EMIS, we are excited to share that we are currently recruiting for a Clinical Software Trainer to join us on an 18-month fixed-term contract.


This position is a field-based role and requires travel across Northern Ireland to deliver on-site training. You will therefore be based in Northern Ireland and hold a full clean driving license.


We’re looking for individuals who have an aptitude for delivering training, whether from a previous training position or a passion for coaching and mentoring. You will be joining a collaborative team of Clinical Software Trainers who are responsible for delivering training sessions to GP Practices that are migrating to our EMIS Web system. In this position, you will receive a supportive onboarding journey that will enable you to deliver high-quality training on-site and remotely.


Please note that a company electric car is included in this role and there is a requirement for overnight stays on a weekly basis.

What you’ll do


We give you all the training you need, so this role is ideal for an individual who either has previous training experience or an aptitude for coaching or mentoring.

As a Clinical Software Trainer, you will be the point of contact for our GP Practice customers during the migration cycle to our EMIS Web software. Throughout the migration cycle you will be responsible for delivering training sessions in varied settings and styles to a variety of audiences, this could be one-to-one, small group sessions, seminar style events and train the trainer on site or remotely.

There is a requirement to travel to site in this Clinical Software Trainer job including multiple overnight stays in a week.


Other key responsibilities and accountabilities will include;


  • Delivery of Transformation services to established customers, identify and implement high complexity solutions.
  • Collection and analysis of customer and/or user requirements and process’s, matching these needs to EMIS Health products and services, ensuring the optimal and effective solutions to find better ways of working are implemented.
  • Advise and provide support to our customers, as a system specialist, with regards to all aspects of the configuration of the EMIS Group products.
  • Detailing customer activity reports within the agreed timeframe of a customer delivery day, encouraging feedback to continue development and improvement.

Who You’ll Be


At EMIS we will provide you with training on our systems and delivery sessions, we’re looking for you to have a genuine passion for excellent customer delivery. We don’t need you to have previous experience in clinical software training, we can teach you this, however, we’re looking for individuals who have experience in coaching, mentoring, or training.

Collaboration is key, not only will you work closely with our customers to understand their training needs during the migration process but also with internal departments and the wider team to troubleshoot any queries. With the ability to learn quickly, you will have good IT literacy and confidence in speaking to a variety of audiences.


Professional skills we are looking for you to demonstrate include;

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to listen carefully, empathise and provide clear and consistent education.
  • Previous experience of providing excellent customer service or customer delivery.
  • Ability to contribute to the creation of dynamic training materials that support knowledge transfer.
  • Flexibility to travel throughout Wales and potentially the UK to deliver training and service on-site with customers.
