About Flare Bright:

Flare Bright is a rapidly growing software company of around 20 people based near Oxford &

rare opportunity to join an expanding team with a professional, flexible, inclusive culture, great

The Role:

Working closely with everyone from apprentices to our CEO and CTO, you will be responsible

for administering all Flare Bright’s IT systems, within our main Westcott office, and for our

remote workers. Flare Bright is a modern company that leverages cloud services, centred

around the Google Workspace infrastructure, using a range of endpoints including Windows 10,

Ubuntu Linux and Android devices.

As a government supplier Flare Bright maintains compliance with Cyber Essentials security

standards. You will be involved in maintaining our information security and acceptable use

policies, and ensuring all IT systems remain compliant. The role includes the full spectrum of

system administration activities including user management, device procurement configuration

and management, secure configuration of networking infrastructure, management of software

applications, and software-based IT policy enforcement.

This role will also require maintaining inventory of all IT assets, including hardware, software

licences, and network equipment. You will monitor IT stock levels, including spare parts and

peripherals, and reorder as necessary to ensure that essential items are always available.

As the IT Systems Administrator, you will take ownership and implement tools for automating

repetitive tasks, such as software updates, backup processes and user onboarding/offboarding.

Another exciting element of the role would be the opportunity to work along-side the drone

engineering team, including managing compute resources for machine-learning activities,

software configuration/testing, electronics, hardware and flight testing.

● At least 5 years of network or system administration experience.

● Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a

closely related field, or equivalent experience required.

● Strong familiarity with cloud computing and services.

● In-depth knowledge of cyber security, including authentication, encryption, firewalls,

network protocols, malware, hacking, privacy and data protection.

● Good knowledge of Windows 10, Linux and Android operating systems.

● Experience with scripting and automation tools.

● Experience with Google Workspace / G-suite is preferred.

● Knowledge of Cyber Essentials is a plus.

● Able to write clear and readable documentation.

● You must be willing to work as part of a team with good interpersonal skills.

Requirements:

and spoken English and clear communications.

● You must be strongly computer literate particularly with documents, spreadsheets,

● Must not be subject to restrictions under any non-UK export laws (such as US ITAR)

Location:

● Hybrid working could be considered, but you will generally work in White City,

London or our Head Office in Westcott Venture Park (15 minutes drive from Bicester

or Aylesbury, 30 minute drive NE of Oxford).

● This is not a purely remote position.

Benefits:

● Opportunity to work in (and grow with) a rapidly growing company in a supportive

and friendly team in professional facilities with flexibility and minimum bureaucracy

● We provide a share options scheme for qualifying employees
