Building Surveyor – Northern residential portfolio management

We are working with a leading residential estate business who have a portfolio of over 100,000 homes across the UK. They are looking for a Building Surveyor to join their business in a fully flexible home based role to manage residential refurbishment projects across their Northern portfolio (mainly the Manchester, Liverpool and Leeds area).

Remuneration:

• £40,000 - £50,000 + Benefits.
• Home based role (1/2 days office per month)

The Role:

The Building Surveyor will join a UK team in a fully flexible (home based) role and will oversee our clients North West residential portfolio. This is a project biased role managing multiple large block internal and external planned maintenance and communal part refurbishment projects valued between c.£5,000 and c.£200,000 with a total management budget of c.£1 million. In addition, the role will cover professional building surveying work including reinstatement cost assessments, building pathology, defect diagnosis and putting together the 10-year planned preventative maintenance (PPM) plans.

The successful Building Surveyor will be joining a dynamic growing group of businesses, and the role would suit a Surveyor who has experience in residential refurbishment projects and is currently in a consultancy, local authority or housing association position.

Requirements:

• BSc in Building Surveying or related subject
• Experience in residential surveying and JCT contract administration of refurbishment and redecoration projects valued between £50k and c£200k.
• Experience in building pathology, defect diagnosis, reinstatement cost assessments and PPM’s.
• Good stakeholder management, communication and report writing skills.
• Experience in fire / building safety, cladding reinstatement and AutoCAD would be advantageous.
