My client, an exciting organization who specialises in cutting-edge defence systems and technology solutions for global military applications, are in search of a Buyer to join their Purchasing Team and oversee procurement activities and drive the supply chain strategy. The role will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality products, at the most competitive costs through developing and driving strong supplier partnerships.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the procurement activities of engineering—focused suppliers
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to deliver a high performing supply chain network
• Drive continuous improvement
• Identify and develop new supply sources that meet requirements and business needs
• Facilitate the introduction of new parts, adapting the supply chain to support emerging needs

Qualifications:

• Strong analytical skills
• Well adept with MRP/ERP systems
• Experience in a technical, engineering and manufacturing buying role
• CIPS or studying towards would be advantageous
