Assistant Company Secretary – 12-Month Maternity Cover
Location: Remote, with occasional travel to London and York (once per quater max)
Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 (with flexibility for London-based candidates)
Start Date: Mid-November (handover period in December)
SSQ is currently partnering with a leading organisation to source an Assistant Company Secretary for a 12-month maternity cover. This role offers the opportunity to work in a high-profile environment, supporting board-level governance activities, with a focus on PLC compliance.
The Role: This is a classic Assistant Company Secretary (ACS) position, where you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of board operations and governance. Key responsibilities include:
- Full board support, including minute-taking and documentation management
- Overseeing the production of the annual report and preparation for the AGM, including logistics
- Ensuring timely and accurate filings, managing statutory governance requirements, and maintaining the board calendar
- Supporting the organisation's compliance with PLC requirements
Requirements:
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in a company secretarial or governance role
- Experience working within a PLC environment is highly desirable
- Proven expertise in providing board support and managing governance processes
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to communicate effectively at all levels
