Network Security SME – Audit

Outside IR35 - up to £600 per day

Hybrid role


Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Network Security SME for a 3-month contract to review our insurance client's current network security architecture, compare it to a zero trust model, and produce a compelling business case for implementing the zero trust approach.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct a comprehensive review of the existing network security architecture
  • Analyse the current implementation of the zero trust model
  • Compare the existing architecture with the zero trust model, identifying gaps and opportunities
  • Develop a detailed business case justifying the replacement of the current architecture with the zero trust model
  • Provide expert guidance on network security best practices and emerging trends


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in enterprise-level network security
  • In-depth knowledge of zero trust architecture and implementation strategies
  • Strong understanding of network security technologies, including firewalls, IPS/IDS, VPNs, and access control systems
  • Experience with security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, or SANS
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CCNP Security
  • Experience in the insurance or financial services sector
  • Previous experience in developing business cases for security architecture changes
  • Familiarity with cloud security concepts and technologies

  • Compliance and regulatory requirements in the insurance industry
