Do you have strong Hydrographic Surveying experience and a passion for GeoSpatial Data?

An exciting Senior Hydrographic Surveyor opportunity has come up with one of our UK Government agency clients. The successful candidate will need a deep understanding of the mobilisation and calibration of hydrographic survey vessel.

They will also be responsible for managing and developing the Geodetic databases and data management processes to meet the requirements of the government agency, and other partners.

CONTRACT DETAILS:

• Job Title: Senior Hydrographic Surveyor
• Competitive Day Rate
• Location: Hybrid
• Duration: 6 months+ (likely to extend)

ABOUT THE ROLE:

• Provide geodetic technical advice and support
• Act as a Hydrographic surveyor
• Transfer of graphical data between GIS systems
• Assist with the validation and appraisal of the geodetic content of incoming hydrographic surveys and provide support to survey teams as and when required
• Assist with the writing and maintenance of Defence geodetic & positioning system
• Lead as Magnetics POC, communicating with external stakeholders
• Prepare and deliver geodetic training to staff and external customers
• Advise the business on hardware/software systems to carry out geodetic calculations and maintain the databases of geodetic information

WHAT THEY ARE LOOKING FOR:

• Experience processing Hydrographic survey data in the following; CARIS/Qimera/NaviModel/Fledermaus/Beamworks/Hypack.
• Experience of survey grade GNSS processing (likely Trimble)
• Experience of working in a hydrographic or geodetic environment.
• Knowledge of coordinate reference systems and map projections.
• Experience working with GIS software.
• An understanding of the operational significance of the Geodetic Data for Hydrographic Surveying.
• Stakeholder management experience.
• Data analysis and IT coding skills would be beneficial.
