Salary: £29,000 - £33,000
Location: Wednesbury
Type: Full-Time / Permanent
Hours / Shift Pattern:
Monday to Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm (30-minute lunch break)
Please Note: This is an office-based role and is not open to remote working.
Overview:
Everest People Solutions is recruiting on behalf of a leading food manufacturer and distributor headquartered in Wednesbury. Our client services major national retailers, large food service groups, and blue-chip corporations. The Supply Demand Planner will play a crucial role in maintaining stock inventory, analysing sales forecasts, and collaborating across departments to ensure optimal stock levels and on-time delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Forecast Analysis: Track and analyse sales forecasts at both the customer and product levels, acting as a bridge between sales and purchasing teams.
- Demand vs. Supply Management: Identify variances between actual and planned demand, making informed adjustments to forecasts and supply chain plans to avoid shortages or overstocks.
- Stock Inventory Management: Plan stock inventory and place purchase orders with suppliers as necessary to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Logistics Coordination: Work with logistics, suppliers, and shipping agents to ensure timely delivery of purchase orders.
- Order Fulfilment: Collaborate with the warehouse and sales teams to achieve 100% order fulfilment while minimizing overstock situations.
- Stock Issue Management: Identify overstocks and work with the sales team to develop plans to clear excess stock.
- Communication: Notify the sales, procurement, and inventory teams of potential stock shortages and excess inventory.
- Warehouse Visits: Maintain day-to-day communication with stock control and visit the warehouse when required.
Essential Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years' experience in supply and demand planning, including forecasting and supplier scheduling.
- S&OP Exposure: Experience in sales and operations planning.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the use of pivot tables and VLookup.
- Organizational Skills: Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to take initiative, gather information, and present well-considered options for decision-making.
