The primary purpose of this job role is to:

Develop and grow apprenticeships and other workplace learning to meet employer and learner needs and be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of all WBL programmes and the assessors who deliver them. Achieve growth ambitions whilst improving quality. Be responsible for team meeting its targets (overall success rates, timely success rates, starts); caseload management of team, work-based learning budgets and forecasting. Be responsible for work-based learning element of the Departments performance monitoring reports and SAR. The primary duties, tasks and responsibilities of this job role are to:


Business Development


1. Develop strategies to increase employer engagement and business development so that the recruitment of apprentices grows.


2. Ensure an effective response to employer needs through a variety of sources of funding including Apprenticeships and full cost work.


3. Develop opportunities for the College to gain from relationships with employers through curriculum advice, work placement and job opportunities.


4. Promote apprenticeships through careers events and school visits.


Curriculum


1. Be responsible for the planning and design of all aspects of the work-based curriculum, ensuring workplace, qualification and framework requirements are met.


2. Plan and manage resources effectively to ensure that all employer and qualification/framework requirements are delivered as per contract.


3. Oversight of Centre Co-ordination for awarding organisations and of Lead Internal Verifier/Quality Assurer activities for programmes to ensure high quality delivery of the training provision within the agreed timescales to meet employer and contractual requirements.


4. Ensure robust quality assurance procedures are in place, and these are regularly reviewed.


5. Support work placements for fulltime learners.


6. With other managers in the Department, develop new training and apprenticeship programmes to meet employer need and demand.


7. Promote the use of technology and e-learning in training delivery, assessment and the review process
