Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 08.30am till 5.00pm with 30 minutes lunch.
Salary: £30k to £33K
Are you an experience QA /QC Specification Technologist who has experience completing GMP audits in food manufacturing? An understanding or qualification in HACCP and a food hygiene certification in the food manufacturing sector?
As a Specifications Technologist you will be generating effectively and efficiently finished product specifications and any associated documentation. As well as reviewing and approving artwork files & proofs on the relevant web-based systems, all in line with the relevant critical path timings to launch and in line with the necessary legislative requirements.
Specifications Technologists are important in ensuring that the products we launch are legally compliant for shelf and are the contact between us and our customer.
If so, we have an excellent permanent opportunity for you to join the food safety team within Technical Operations.
Responsibilities include:
Managing the approval and completion of all paperwork required for Fair Trade, Red Tractor and Soil Association accreditation requirements.
Reviewing and commenting on relevant artwork platforms, ensuring timescales are met.
Completing, effectively and accurately, technical information/questionnaires as required for customers.
Generating nutritional and ingredient information.
Collating information for customer reports and presentations.
Completing technical compliance activities and reports.
Supporting the technical customer services officer, inputting data, and completing reports.
Supporting on administration of QMS.
Ensure materials and products are handled in a hygienic environment, in line with products specs, compliance and food legislation.
Ensure good hygiene and housekeeping standards are maintained at all times.
Carry out Quality duties as outlined by the QA Supervisor.
To take part in all continuous improvement projects relevant to Quality/Technical.
Be aware of individual product requirements and acknowledge any problems specific to each product.
Assist in customer and 3rdparty audits. Be familiar with BRC requirements.
Coordinate action for in process and finished product non-conformances, manage follow up of incidents and handle customer complaints in an effective way.
To undertake all checks on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis as defined on the QMS testing schedule in an accurate and timely manner.
Verification of production compliance throughout the established QMS & HACCP systems
To effectively work and communicate with management team and production operatives to continuously improve standards.
To spend the 80% of the time per shift on the production area
Hygiene inspection where required.
Quality certificates and COA completion
Product release
Completion of Fabrication and Glass and hard plastic audits
Completion of GMP audits
Submission of laboratory samples
Assistance in training and verification
Calibration of key equipment

Knowledge of Microsoft office (Excel / Word / PowerPoint).

Organised and ability to multitask.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Good attention to detail.
