Test Technician - NPI
Our client, a leading global manufacturing company in the field of precision power conversion and control solutions, is seeking a Test Technician - NPI to join their team on a contract basis. With a focus on electronics testing and fault finding, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and performance of electronic equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform various production assembly operations on electronic components and sub-assemblies.
- Utilise test procedures, drawings, schematics, and verbal/written instructions to test and troubleshoot units.
- Work on semi-routine assignments, recognising nonconformity's and ensuring adherence to production schedules.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with colleagues and team members.
- Adhere to all safety requirements in the workplace.
- Maintain fixturing, perform calibration, and carry out preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Work under limited supervision, contributing to the training of other employees and initiating corrective actions.
- Ensure tasks are performed accurately and completely.
- Effectively cross-train on multiple product platforms.
- Contribute to process improvements, lead time reduction, and cost-saving initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in electrical circuits and assemblies testing preferred.
- Proven ability to be flexible and adapt in a team environment.
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and 5S concepts.
- Intermediate computer knowledge, including AE Nexus, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Proficiency in pertinent SAP applications.
- Minimum of two years' experience in electronic testing and troubleshooting (or equivalent).
- Experience in designing, developing, and implementing new test fixturing.
- Knowledge and understanding of ESD practices.
- HNC or Electrical Electronics Degree.
This is a contract role where you will be working Monday to Thursday from 07:00 to 15:30 and Friday from 07:00 to 12:00. Our client offers competitive rates of pay between £12 and £14 per hour.
