Job Description

You will join Controls and Assurance Divisions Provider Assurance Team (PAT). The team tests suppliers systems of internal control to establish how effective they are in managing risks to DWP and the taxpayer.

As an Assurance Manager, you will:
  • Undertake expert, robust, evidenced, risk-based assurance activity of suppliers across DWP health assessment and employment support services.
  • Gather and analyse information across a range of scope areas, including governance, service delivery, claims and payment controls, Provide opinions and detailed reports on the strengths and weaknesses of suppliers controls.
  • Lead and contribute to allocated reviews, managing own and colleagues time, making the best use of resource, ensuring reviews allocated are completed within agreed timescales.
  • Ensure that review activity complies with PAT policy, quality standards, procedures and methodology, including meetings with providers at key stages and maintaining accurate records.
  • Draft written reports for the Director of Contract Management and Partnerships Directorate, suppliers and internal stakeholders which are accurate, timely and well written.
  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and stakeholders to share information and provide advice and guidance to improve their controls and assurance activity.
  • Commit to obtaining or maintaining relevant qualifications to enable you to best perform your role.
  • Contribute to making Controls and Assurance Division and DWP a great place to work.
  • Have experience and/or a desire to build your expertise in governance, risk management, audit or assurance.

Important Note: These roles will require national travel to CMPD supplier sites, including overnight stays where appropriate.

Selection process details

This vacancy is using Success Profiles (opens in a new window) , and will assess your Behaviours, Strengths and Experience.

Applicants will be asked to provide a Personal Statement of no more than 1250 words against the key criteria as outlined above. You will also be asked to provide a short CV listing your skills and experience.

Your CV will only be considered for applications that progress to job offer and will assist the vacancy holders in matching skills to suitable opportunities/locations. It will not form part of the sifting process or be scored.

Sift:

All applications will be sifted according to the key criteria within the person specification section of this advert, using the information you provide on the Personal Statement template supplied in the application process.

Should a large number of applications be received, an initial sift may be conducted using the lead criteria:

Interview:

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an interview. This will be a video interview. The interview panel will be a minimum of two people.

Applicants meeting the agreed minimum standard will be interviewed using the blended approach testing both Behaviours & Strengths.

You will be asked for your preferences for up to 3 locations, these will tell us where you would prefer to work if you are successful. Please do not select a location unless you are prepared to accept a role in that location.
