Senior Backend Engineer - Node.js/Express.js

Mandatory : Open to work from office in Mumbai. DO NOT apply if you want a remote role. Tech stack : Node.js Experience : 3.5 years on Node.js Budget : INR 24 LPA Duties : 1. 50% of the time - Groom the application requirements & user interface designs with the Product Owner and Product Designer. - Build highly scalable, concurrent & fault tolerant GraphQL & RESTFul API services using Node.js/Express. Integrate the services into Cloud Solution Provider(AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) that may follow a Container-based or Server-less architecture. - Create database schemas(MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB) that represent the application domain. Design and implement data models for every facet of the application. - Research, evaluate & connect to third party API services like payment, logistics etc. 2. 30% of the time : - Provide technical leadership to other engineers in the team. - Perform regular code reviews. - Provide support to QA team. 3. 20% of the time : - Keep yourself & the team up to date on the latest trends, frameworks, design patterns & libraries. - Actively incorporate them into the day to day work. - Act as thought leader in the wider community. This includes playing a lead role in educating, sharing best practices, writing blogs, and running workshops. Skills & Competencies : - Extensive, solid experience in designing and developing multiple large-scale Web application back-ends. - Ability to analyze and solve difficult problems across the back-end. - Deep experience in overall system design and implementation-how they scale, how they should fit together, and how they're likely to break. - Familiarity with common API and services design best practices. - Expertise in app hosting technologies Kubernetes, Docker etc. Experience with Serverless technologies like AWS Lambda, AppSync is a plus. - Understanding of Agile method of delivery. - Outstanding communication, presentation, and leadership skills. - Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills. - Able to effectively manage conflicting stakeholder needs. - Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities. Relationships : Will work closely with Product Owner, Director of Engineering, Delivery Manager, the Sr. QA Engineer & other engineers from the Agile team (ref:hirist.tech)
