Job Description

This role involves working as part of the Project Delivery team on substation and infrastructure projects, renewable energy projects, contestable connections, and private network installations. The Technician will be responsible for the installation of both high and low voltage electrical equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

Installation of LV/HV substation equipment.

Installation of multicore cables and associated equipment for protection and control systems.

HV cable installation, including jointing.

Transformer tail connections and terminations.

Support commissioning activities on new build projects.

Small/panel wiring.

Small power and lighting installation.

LV electrical testing (18th Edition).

Installation of earthing and associated equipment.

Adhere to company rules, health and safety, and environmental standards and practices.

Work as part of a team on-site, following the Project Engineer's instructions and the provided work pack.

Attend training and development opportunities as required.

Promote a positive company image to clients.

Requirements

Skills and Competencies:

Knowledge of current health and safety legislation, with a strong understanding of its importance within the industry, including CDM (Construction Design and Management).
Essential Requirements:

HV industry experience.

Emergency First Aid & Manual Handling certifications.

CSCS/ECS card.

18th Edition qualified.

Full clean driving licence.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

Current HV/LV authorisation at technician, jointer, or fitter level for 11kV and 33kV private networks or DNO.

City & Guilds Inspection and Testing certification.

ONC/BTEC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

LV/HV cable jointing experience.

MEWP (Mobile Elevated Work Platform) licence.

Scaffolding (PASMA) certification.

Proven track record in industrial electrical engineering and installation.

Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and flow diagrams.

Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Excellent communication and organisational abilities
