BESS Commissioning Manager/Principal Engineer – Manchester, England - £Excellent Day Rate - 12 Month Contract + Extensions - Outside IR35 - ASAP Start Date

Responsibilities:

• Provide effective leadership of the BESS engineering team, ensuring project success and operational excellence.
• Oversee the installation and commissioning of BESS projects, ensuring seamless handover to clients.
• Support the Responsible Designer and Engineering Design Manager in project delivery.
• Act as Principal Designer Advisor, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
• Develop and implement design, safety case, and commissioning strategies.
• Lead commissioning activities, providing technical supervision and oversight.
• Ensure smooth handover of systems, including documentation, drawings, and training materials.
• Adhere to and promote Environmental, Health & Safety, Security, and Quality standards, supporting continuous improvement on-site.

Requirements:

• Degree in Engineering or a relevant discipline (Essential).
• Extensive experience in renewable energy, process, or construction industries (Essential).
• Strong knowledge of Technical, Health & Safety, and Environmental legislation (Essential).
• Experience in contract management (Desirable).
• Proactive with excellent communication skills across project teams and accountability lines.
• Willingness to travel to other sites as required by project demands.
