Job Description

The Site Leader of EOC UK (Manchester) is responsible for the overall management, operations and performance of the site in Manchester, ensuring that all resources are used efficiently and effectively. He/she will lead and manage the teams to optimise the performance of the site to meet corporate objectives and targets, and will ensure compliance with all relevant regulations. He/she requires a focused approach to manage successfully.


The site in Manchester counts 26 FTE and produces adhesives and compounds.


Core performance areas

  • Managing, planning & coordinating the day-to-day operations of the site. This includes the management of staff, customers and other stakeholders, compliance & physical assets.


Day-to-Day Operations

  • Oversee day-to-day plant operations to ensure production schedules are met
  • Develop, implement and monitor strategic plans to optimise production operations, reduce costs & achieve production targets.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance processes, reduce lead times and maximize the site potential
  • Implement best practices in technology and innovation


Staff, Customers & Other Stakeholders

  • Leading, managing and motivating site employees
  • Provide leadership and direction to all employees, adopting a positive and collaborative workplace environment
  • Develop and mentor staff to enhance their skills and capabilities through methods such as assessments and training.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and external partners to ensure a seamless supply chain
  • Liaising with customers when required to maintain strong business relationships
  • Liasing with solicitors and barristers on behalf of the company
  • Managing site contractors, professional bodies and legal representatives


Compliance

  • Ensuring that all activities are compliant with the relevant regulations, standards and procedures
  • Develop, implement and monitor policies to ensure continuous improvement in line with relevant regulations and standards
  • Develop, implement and monitor safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all site personnel


Quality

  • Develop, implement and enforce quality control procedures to ensure the production of high quality materials
  • Monitor quality assurance systems, procedures and workflows.


Asset Management

  • Optimise the use of resources, including raw materials, equipment and manpower to maximise efficiency and minimise waste
  • Manage and maintain all fixed assets / equipment
  • Advise and assist in the development and implementation of projects


Corporate

  • Liaising with EOC Board of Directors.
  • Managing site budgets and resources.
  • Implement corporate standards in collaborate with senior management and site employees.
  • Align local site objectives with overall company goals


Power of Attorney

  • The Site Director as attorney can, on the companies behalf, consider, settle, approve, sign, execute, deliver and/or issue all agreements, documents, certificates and instruments (all whether as a deed or not) following the relevant Company procedures.
  • As a Site Director he/she is legally responsible for the Companie’s Goods Vehicle Operators License and Environmental Permit and relevant legislation.
  • As a Site Director of a limited company he/she is legally responsible for running the company and ensuring information sent to Companies House/HMRC on time. This includes all legally required reports/returns as set out by current regulations.
  • Being the Site Director he/she will be a member of the EOC UK Board of Directors.


Health & Safety

  • Drive forward H&S initiatives, training and adopt a positive culture.
  • Set the site H&S policy and provisions, including ensuring sufficient resources are available to comply.
  • Co-operate with colleagues on H&S matters both from a corporate and a local level.
  • Liaise with external bodies, regulatory authorities and government organisations on behalf of company.


Environment

  • Set the site environmental policy and provisions, including ensuring sufficient resources are available to comply with environmental permit and other regulations.
  • Drive forward environmental standards, initiatives, training and adopt a positive culture.
  • Responsible for avoiding pollution (water, air, noise or land) and reporting of pollution and/or potential pollution incidents to relevant regulatory authorities.


Quality

  • Set the site quality policy and provisions (based on corporate standards), including ensuring sufficient resources are available to comply.
  • Drive forward the quality standard, initiatives, training and adopt a positive culture to minimise defects
  • Product liability
  • ISO certification
  • Quality manual and the quality management systems on site.



Profile description


  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Chemistry, Engineering, (B.A./B.Sc.) or equivalent in a scientific discipline is required. Master's degree is a preferable..
  • Proven experience in a leadership role within manufacturing, preferably in the chemical sector.
  • Strong understanding of continuous improvement, productivity, quality standards and safety regulations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to make data-driven decisions and implement process improvements.
  • Strong computer skills including knowledge of relevant software and systems such as SAP.
  • Ability to respond to ad hoc situations in a timely manner.
  • Ability to lead a team of professionals
  • Excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects
  • Hierarchical managerial responsibility: 20 - 30 employees.
  • Functional managerial responsibility: HR /Accounts, Quality Assurance/Control, Sales, SHEQ, Transport, Production and Engineering
