About the role


An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Security Officer to join the Facilities team based in our Pacific Quay office, Glasgow.


This role will work on a rota basis across a variety of day and night shifts.



Responsibilities of the role


  • Ensuring the office is secured as appropriate.
  • Complete accident and incident reports.
  • Checking & issuing of employee \ visitors security passes.
  • Undertake Health and Safety (H&S) Induction with all new employees.
  • Monitoring the access control system at Pacific Quay and external properties.
  • Monitoring fire panel \ isolating zones and liaise with Fire Officer during evacuations.
  • Dealing with visitors and contractors, ensuring completion of Permit to Work if required.
  • Undertake building checks for safety, fire hazards. Check fire extinguishers and H&S equipment.
  • Answering of switchboard and dealing with enquiries in a professional, efficient, and appropriate manner.
  • Checking and refilling of first aid boxes and undertake training on defibrillator.
  • Monitoring fire exit doors & disabled toilet alarms.
  • Regular testing of the fire and lift alarms.
  • Checking and signing for packages.
  • Booking of account and cash taxis ensuring compliance with company policy.
  • Operating CCTV to monitor the internal and external facilities.
  • Assist in any other aspects of the Company’s work as reasonably required.



Skills & experience


  • Demonstrable experience in a Security related role is essential.
  • Solid understanding of Health & Safety.
  • Previous experience of liaising with emergency service personnel such as Fire Officer.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills as this role is the first port of call for any security queries via e-mail and telephone.
  • Proactive, demonstrates initiative and willingness to take on responsibility.
  • Competent PC skills in all MS Office software especially Word, Explorer, Outlook & MS Teams.
  • Full clean driver’s licence is preferred but not essential.
  • First Aid qualifications are desired but not essential as training will be provided.
