Job Description

Are you an Employment Solicitor looking to make the move to an in-house role? Or, could you be an in-house lawyer looking for greener pastures? Providing an ideal opportunity to explore your capabilities and showcase your expertise within a dynamic company, this global technology consultancy is searching for the newest member of their in-house legal team.

This award-winning company has over 30 years of experience working with consultants who serve as the backbone of technology and innovation across several continents. As a fast-paced and expansive business, they’re after an assertive and highly competent employment law specialist to be a proactive member of their growing team.

In this Employment Legal Counsel role, you will work closely with the extended legal team to provide much needed employment advice to consultants across the UK and beyond, as well as offering advice to internal stakeholders within EMEA, thus witnessing the effects of your hard work in line with the growth of the company.

This Employment Legal Counsel role will include:

  • Providing employment-focused advice and solutions: covering the full range of employment issues, including hiring, termination, mobility and immigration, disputes, investigations, and advisory support for specific employee issues.

  • Pragmatic stakeholder engagement: advising relevant stakeholders, including managers and directors, as to the risks associated with various employment-related processes.

  • Reviewing policies and procedures: keeping track of new legislation and researching applicable legal issues that affect the company, advising them on the implementation of required legal amendments to policies and procedures.

  • Supporting their People Team: coordinating closely with them to ensure a consistent approach to policies and decision-making across the global organisation.

  • Developing legal resources: contributing towards the maintenance and development of template contracts, forms, training materials, and more, in addition to supporting the provision of internal training sessions as required to ensure compliance.

For this Employment Legal Counsel role, you will ideally have:

  • A minimum of three years’ experience with employment law
  • Good commercial acumen and a pragmatic approach to risk-based decision making
  • Great communication and the confidence to advise and collaborate with colleagues and business leaders
  • Strong negotiation and social skills

Are you an employment lawyer with a few years of experience under your belt who’s unsure that private practice is the way to go? Or could you be working in-house already, longing for a job closer to home, by the seaside? Let us know; we’d be happy to discuss the opportunity in further detail.

Please note, in terms of location, that this company’s legal team is based across their London and Brighton offices. They require three days in the office per week, one of which must be in London.

The salary for this role is dependent upon experience and ranges from £60,000 to £75,000.
