Plater / Welder

Role Summary:

Do you have expertise working with mild steel up to 50mm thick, and have you been involved in large-scale structural, defence, oil & gas, subsea, nuclear, or similar projects? If so, we want to hear from you! H&G Engineering is partnering with a leading company based in Oldham that's experiencing significant growth. They've secured several major contracts and are now seeking a skilled Plater Welder to join their expanding team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with an industry leader that offers excellent career prospects and benefits.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out welding and plating on medium to heavy engineering projects, particularly with mild steel up to 100mm thick.
• Work on a variety of large-scale projects in sectors such as nuclear, defence, oil & gas, subsea, and offshore.
• Adhere to high-quality welding standards, ideally working to coded specifications.

Requirements :

• Apprentice-trained Plater Welder with extensive experience in medium to heavy engineering.
• Strong experience with mild steel (priority), with additional skills in materials like stainless steel, carbon, or Hardox being advantageous.
• Background in sectors such as nuclear, defence, military, oil & gas, offshore, subsea, or heavy structural steel projects.
• Coded welding experience is highly desirable.

What's on Offer:

Salary: £34,000 per annum

Working hours:

• Monday to Friday 7:30am-3:30pm (37.5 hours per week).
• Overtime: Regular overtime available, paid at time and a half.
• currently 2-4 hours per day overtime or weekend availability.
