We are looking to recruit a HR Reporting Assistant on a 15-month Fixed Term Contract based from our Wakefield office. The role does offer hybrid working.


Role Overview:


To design and maintain data systems and databases by extracting data from primary and secondary sources, then reorganizing such data in a format that can be easily read and reported on. As HR Reporting Assistant you will be responsible for the quality and accuracy of data; the process, design, and presenting it in ways to help the Company make better decisions in respect of key human resource activities and metrics.


Key Functional Areas:


To identify collect, clean, analyse/model and present information using data analysis tools to enable management to make important decisions by identifying various facts and trends in respect of all people related metrics. Responsibilities will include:

  • Work independently to collate, analyse and report on data
  • Working with large complex data sets from varying sources
  • Highly proficient in excel – Macros, Pivot Tables, V lookups, X lookups, Slicer
  • Provide insight from and manipulate data
  • Ability to connect data to business insights for non-technical audiences
  • Ability to translate non-technical business requirements in to technical/BI solutions
  • Comfortable working with business stakeholders across a range of experience with data and analytics
  • Ability to provide short term solutions quickly and think outside of the box
  • Able to effectively communicate a new process or way of working
  • Able to share best practice way of working.


Key Capabilities Required:


(1) Skills, Capabilities and attributes

A high level of mathematical ability and analytical skills coupled with a excellent knowledge of data analysis tools. Advanced skills in the use of Excel and familiarity with databases. Knowledge of data modelling, data cleansing and data enrichment techniques. The ability to carry out data quality control with an understanding of data protection issues. Has experience of statistical methodologies and data analysis techniques.


(2) Behavioural Attributes

Articulate communicator and able to work with tact, diplomacy, integrity and confidentiality. Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines and balance conflicting priorities. A strong team player and someone who takes accountability and responsibility for their deliverables. Paying attention to detail. Communicating well and being highly organised are important attributes to the role.


(3) Knowledge, Experience and Qualification

Recent experience of working in a similar role and/or within an HR environment. A good degree in a relevant discipline is required such as business information systems, economics, statistics or mathematics. It is possible to apply for this role without a degree subject to having the appropriate experience and knowledge set out above coupled with a good education.


It is essential that candidates have had previous experience in a similar role, having demonstrated superior analytical skills. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential in the role as is the ability to maintain confidentiality and tact when dealing with sensitive and/or confidential data.


Attention to detail and a full working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint are essential.
