Location: Glasgow/Hybrid

Salary: up to £38,000 dependent on experience

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic individual to join our Finance team within the STV Studios division. Based in the Glasgow office and reporting to the Finance Business Partner your responsibilities will include:


  • Raising of invoices, updating of trackers, and ensuring invoices are raised in accordance with the contract
  • Liaising with stakeholders on any payments and contracts queries for Studios
  • Assist the Glasgow development team with their development cost monitoring including producing monthly development reports and analysis of actual spend vs budget, highlighting any overspend
  • Monthly management accounts: rolling over in excel, extracting from our accounts system, and reviewing the WIP for upcoming shows, production dates, over or underspends, costs to accrue or forecast with the Production Manager; preparing balance sheet schedules (accruals, prepayments, WIP); reviewing movements on last month and liaising with Head of Production where needed for forecasts
  • Prepare monthly report of Programme cost report status within the blockplan, with notes to any variances. Distribute to Heads of Production for review and feedback
  • Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Preparation of all reports generated for annual budget and quarterly forecasts such as the Profit & Loss and cash flows.
  • Assist with the completion of distribution statements and request invoices from licensees in order to make payments
  • Liaise with auditors during audit periods and assist with audit samples
  • Preparation of any ad hoc reports or analysis required
  • Assist in any other aspects of work of the company as reasonably required


SKILLS & EXPERIENCE


  • A minimum of three years demonstrable accounting experience, preferably within the Media, Film and TV Production industry
  • Experience of working closely with business managers within a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build great working relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external
  • Demonstrable experience in preparing management accounts
  • Experience of working with financial software
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel and Word
  • Experience of maintaining and controlling production budgets
  • Ability to work under pressure and remain calm in the face of changing circumstances
  • High attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Ability to prioritise work effectively and meet deadlines
