Excellent opportunity for an experienced Structural Steel Draughtsperson to join a well-established company based in Cardiff
Salary: £38,000- £45,000 per annum
Job Type: Full Time / Permanent

The Company
They are a company specialising in Structural Steelwork for various Industries and have been established for over 20 years. Due to increasing growth, they are recruiting another Tekla Design Engineer to join their team.
Their range of customers and projects is diverse, they use the latest Tekla software to produce the models and drawings for projects. Once a project has been approved you will produce the fabrication drawings and if required you will advise their fabrication team.
The business ethos is to create excellent quality projects with efficient and accurate fabrication and installation.
The expectation is for you to work independently on projects but will always be supported by the other members of the team. The projects will include steel structures, refurbishment steel, staircases etc. Occasionally you will be required to conduct site visits so good communication skills with an understanding of steel fabrication would be beneficial, you will also be required to have a full UK drivers’ license.
Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years' experience using Tekla. Applicants should be motivated, enthusiastic and have a willingness to be flexible and proactive.
Essential
* Tekla Structural Experience (3 years minimum)
* Good knowledge of BIM (Building Information Modelling) and skills to import models and files into Tekla Structures.
* An understanding of steel fabrication process & installation.
* Experienced at reading and interpretating Structural Engineer & Architect drawings
* Experience and knowledge of drawing practices and standards related to Tekla design, connection detailing and fabrication drawings.
* Able to work under pressure to meet required timescales.
Desirable
* Experience working with Microsoft Office, Excel, word etc
* Willingness to do overtime to meet project deadlines
* Other 3D modelling/CAD experience
* Good communication skills with the ability to liaise with subcontractors and clients.
* Ability to work efficiently as a team or independently.
* Previous experience in a similar environment is also preferable.
