The University spends circa £128 million on goods, services and works. 90% of this spend is influenced by the central procurement team who lead procurement exercises over £25,000. This exciting role will give the successful candidate an opportunity to directly support on innovative, business critical and varying tender requirements.
The role requires a dynamic, forward thinking candidate with a ‘can do attitude’ who wants to demonstrate their ability to build trusted relationships with key stakeholders and show their commercial understanding by delivering contracts that demonstrate value for money. The candidate will also have the opportunity to work alongside and learn from a supportive, ambitious, dedicated and award-winning procurement team.

This role will allow the candidate to play a key role in the delivery of the procurement strategy across the University and ensure that the University’s procurement activity achieves value for money and is compliant with Public Sector procurement regulations, supported by experienced Category Managers.
The candidate will have the opportunity to work on the strategic sourcing and commercial management of designated goods and services related commodities ensuring maximisation of cost efficiencies through the implementation of best procurement practice.
