Job Description
Our client is one of the largest construction companies within the UK with internationally-renowned experience in the successful delivery of technically demanding, multi-disciplinary and logistically complex projects.
They now have a requirement for two Carbon Advisors to join their highways division, one covering London/South East, the other Manchester/North West
In this role as Carbon Advisor, you will support my clients Highways portfolio and relevant Major Projects in the following-
Developing, delivering, assuring, and reporting carbon reductions as a scheme outcome and provide the evidence to show that carbon outcomes are in line with annual business targets, scheme specific targets, and their Highways Building New Future’s Strategy
You will support the Head of Environment and Sustainability in delivering consistency across the Highways projects, ensuring efficient services and support to meet operational requirements.
This role will include regional travel to support several projects and a company car will be provided.
The individual
A science-based background i.e. relevant BSc or equivalent qualification in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Carbon, Energy or similar;
An understanding of carbon impact/mitigation issues on infrastructure;
Understanding of carbon reporting standards, guidance and regulatory regimes e.g. PAS 2080;
Understanding of issues in integrating low carbon into infrastructure design and construction;
Experienced in Office applications and use of analytical tools;
Understanding of the benefits of working collaboratively to obtain the best outcome for the project;
Good interpersonal and communication skills;
Determination to see tasks through to completion;
Member of a relevant professional body is desirable
