Job Description
Prospero Teaching are recruiting for a Teaching assistant for an SEN school in Burnely. This is a special school for pupils with Social, emotional and mental health difficulties and additional complex needs, including children with challenging behaviours.
The school currently educates children both on site and in the community and the school is seeking teaching assistants to work in both with the onsite team and the offsite team.
They offer staff development training and encourage TAs to work towards either a HLTA qualification or teaching qualification. They give staff two welfare days per year, and have at least 8 inset days for various staff training. The role is term time only. The working day is 8.15a.m. - 4.15pm. on Monday; 8.15a.m. - 4p.m Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, with a 3p.m finish on Fridays. The pupils school day is 8.50a.m. - 2.30p.m. The school also provides lunch for staff and tea/coffee etc.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS
BA degree or equivalent
Minimum 1 year teaching assistant experience in the UK
Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
Hold Right to Work in the UK
Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
Provide two professional child related references
