What you will be doing in this role:

Reporting to the Construction Director, the Senior Contracts Manager will lead a collaborative team and manage multiple projects while supporting the strategic direction of the Construction team. This senior role within the Construction team will ensure project goals are met on budget and on schedule, while maintaining a strong focus on quality assurance and health and safety standards. You will contribute to the broader strategic objectives of the EPC department and the wider business.


The role involves overseeing the successful delivery of projects, fostering a supportive and dynamic work environment, and encouraging the professional development of your team members.


This role involves extensive travel to various sites across the UK and may require overnight stays. However, we understand the importance of balancing professional and personal commitments, and we offer support to help manage this aspect of the role.


What we need from you:

  • Participate in strategic planning for project delivery and pipeline management.
  • Provide oversight for project programmes and critical milestones.
  • Manage project budgets, cost plans, and construction schedules in collaboration with the Quantity Surveyor.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, sub-contractors, and all stakeholders.
  • Negotiate and establish contracts for project delivery, ensuring targets for programme and budget are met.
  • Oversee and monitor project costs and ensure robust cost control.
  • Attend site and contractor meetings to ensure progress is aligned with project goals.
  • Manage variations and change control with the Cost Management team.
  • Ensure the completion of all work packages, maintaining high standards for health, safety, and quality.


Key skills and qualifications:

  • Experience in a similar role is essential, with a focus on collaboration and leadership.
  • A strong understanding of the renewables sector is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience building relationships with diverse stakeholders and presenting project updates.
  • Experience on electrical projects is an advantage.
  • Strong communication skills and proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Project is desirable (training can be provided).
  • Experience managing large-scale construction or infrastructure projects.
  • HND or degree qualification in construction, or equivalent experience.
  • A British driving licence is essential.
