Senior Project Manager / Project Director

Your new company One of Northern Ireland's Tier 1 Contractors are currently recruiting a Senior Project Manager / Project Director to work on a large scale, £multi-million-pound civil engineering framework. Based here in Northern Ireland, your new employer is one of the most recognisable brands in the Civils and Construction industry and has been involved in some of the largest projects in the UK and Ireland. With exponential growth, they continue to expand, and due to such continued growth, they now require a lead, Senior Project Manager for the ongoing Civil Engineering scheme that has been awarded its next phase. Reporting to company Directors, this role will see you take on a huge civils project and join a company that is recognised as one of the best employers in the country, that provides excellent packages, projects and continued development opportunities for its staff. Your new role Having been awarded new contracts with UK clients, this role will see you working to deliver improvements which will provide a resilient supply of clean and clear water to its customers. The primary function is to provide strong visible leadership in the management of all aspects of the project to deliver a successful outcome for all. You will also communicate and report to senior management on progress, cost and revenue, risks, and mitigation actions, as well as track the key delivery performance. Health, safety, and wellbeing will be your underlying drivers. As a Senior Project Manager / Project Director, you will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following: Deliver operational excellence throughout the project and the team, providing an overview to all its members, as well as the client, and providing strategic goals along the way. Manage the project team and supply chain to deliver the project to cost, time and quality standards Work with your team to provide a proactive approach to managing health and safety on site by ensuring safety targets are maintained and actively seek input from all members of the project team on implementing safety improvements Engage with the client frequently, building rapport and ensuring you have a clear understanding of their objectives and can cascade this to the team Retain effective and current records on progress of delivery reports, health and safety, risks Manage operational excellence by rigorous monthly improvement plan reviews with Bid and Pre-construction specialists. What you'll need to succeed Previously held a Senior Project management role on large Civils projects, both in size and planning, coordination, communication, team management and programming skills, as well as the ability to plan and hold strategic meetings while setting tangible working knowledge of contract conditions, CDM regulations, Design Management, Programme & Risk Management, and cost control including forecasting, actual cost and value reporting. Technical knowledge of civil engineering and best practices, ideally with experience of pipeline of water appropriate and valid management tickets and educated to degree standard in Engineering or must be willing to travel for this role and be able to commit to weekly travel.
