Job Description

Clinical Assessor (Northern Ireland) We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Clinical Assessor with a background in Mental Health or Psychiatry, to work within a high-profile scheme related to historical events in Northern Ireland. This role offers the chance to make a tangible difference by assessing applicants for a scheme providing support to individuals impacted by past events. Salary and Bonuses: Base Salary: £38,500 - £41,500* Retention Bonus: 5% Additional Bonus: Up to 10% for quality and retention Estimated Total Earnings (OTE): £45,650 Essential Skills & Experience: At least 2 years post-registration experience as a Doctor, Nurse, or Allied Healthcare Professional. Fully registered with the GMC, NMC, or HCPC, with a valid PIN and no restrictions. Experience in Mental Health or Psychiatric practice. Strong analytical and report-writing skills with experience managing detailed assessment portfolios. Proficiency in using MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and IT systems for documentation. Ability to remain neutral on sensitive historical matters, with a balanced, unbiased approach. Key Responsibilities: Independently manage your workload and assess individuals who may have been affected by historical events in Northern Ireland. Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments (in person and remotely), reviewing medical evidence and documenting detailed reports for decision-making. Engage with other healthcare professionals to gather supporting medical evidence when necessary. Compile structured, evidence-based assessment reports for the Victims Payment Board. Ensure the quality and productivity targets are met as per contractual service level agreements. Competencies: Self-Management: Ability to handle own caseload and provide examples of successfully managing workload in previous roles. Communication: Proficiency in written and verbal communication with a variety of individuals from different socio-economic backgrounds. Attention to Detail: Experience conducting detailed research and preparing structured, evidence-based reports. Neutrality: A comprehensive yet neutral understanding of historical events in Northern Ireland is crucial. Additional Information: Full driving licence and access to a car required. Role is remote but may require travel to applicants homes or assessment centres.
