Location: Warrington, UK
Salary: Up to £48,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Estimator with a strong background in architectural steelwork, particularly in balustrades, balconies, and staircases, to join our team in Warrington. As an Estimator, you will play a critical role in preparing accurate and competitive tenders for a range of commercial and residential projects.
The successful candidate will have experience in pricing structural and architectural steelwork packages, from initial inquiry through to contract award. You will work closely with our design, production, and project management teams to ensure all projects are accurately costed, within budget, and meet customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
* Tendering and Estimating: Prepare detailed and competitive tenders for architectural steelwork projects, including balustrades, balconies, staircases, and other structural elements.
* Project Analysis: Review architectural and engineering drawings to assess the scope of work, materials required, and fabrication time.
* Cost Management: Accurately estimate material, labour, and time requirements, ensuring profitability and cost-effectiveness.
* Supplier Liaison: Work closely with suppliers to source materials and negotiate pricing to ensure the best value is achieved.
* Client Communication: Engage with clients to discuss project requirements, specifications, and tender clarifications.
* Risk Assessment: Identify and manage potential risks during the estimating phase, ensuring comprehensive costings.
* Bid Submissions: Prepare and submit high-quality tender documentation within specified deadlines.
* Collaboration: Work collaboratively with internal teams including design, contracts, and production to ensure alignment between the project’s design and costings.
* Market Research: Stay updated on industry trends, steelwork innovations, and market prices for materials and labour.
Key Requirements:
* Proven experience as an Estimator in the architectural steel industry, with a focus on balustrades, balconies, and staircases.
* Strong understanding of architectural and structural steel fabrication processes and materials.
* Proficiency in reviewing and interpreting architectural and structural drawings and specifications.
* Excellent numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
* Experience using estimating software and other relevant IT tools (AutoCAD, Tekla, or similar).
* Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines.
* Strong communication and negotiation skills.
* Knowledge of current industry standards, building regulations, and health & safety requirements.
* A proactive approach to problem-solving and project management.
Qualifications:
* HND/Degree in Construction, Engineering, or a related field (preferred but not essential).
* Relevant qualifications or certifications in steel fabrication, construction, or estimating are advantageous.
