Overview

Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to join a global reinsurance organisation and contribute to the efficient handling of claims within the Latin America & Caribbean region?

As a Claims Handler you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient handling of claims. This position is based in Ipswich, and you will collaborate on a daily basis with associates in Mumbai, London, Miami and the Latin America and Caribbean region.

The successful candidate must have fluent Spanish language skills.


How you'll make an impact

  • Receive and promptly act upon claim or cash call instructions from clients, ensuring timely communication and necessary information sharing.
  • Advise, update, and negotiate claim agreements with reinsurers in accordance with contract conditions.
  • Effectively manage and resolve queries from clients and reinsurers, seeking assistance as needed and ensuring appropriate escalation and timely resolution.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, third parties, and reinsurers within the assigned portfolio, coordinating closely with the Client Service Manager, Operations Director, and Overseas offices as required.
  • Collaborate with the Placement Support team and internal colleagues to ensure the efficient delivery of client services to Gallagher Re clients.
  • Ensure accurate and organised storage of internal, client, and market correspondence on electronic filing systems, attaching necessary documents to relevant records.
  • Support Account and Settlement associates in handling financial aspects promptly and securely, adhering to auditing and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform Second Pair Of Eyes (SPOE) checks at relevant stages of the process, including CEM steps, ensuring compliance with sanctions protocols.
  • Adhere to established Group policies and procedures, including all applicable CEM and regulatory requirements.

About You

  • Minimum A-level education or equivalent industry experience based on the role.
  • Claims experience in the insurance or reinsurance industry is desirable.
  • Spanish language skills are essential.
  • Intermediate IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to organise and prioritise tasks optimally.
  • Capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team, with a willingness to learn and grow.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with brokers, clients, and markets.
  • Good time management skills to meet deadlines and handle multiple responsibilities.
  • Occasional travel to London may be required.
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK.
