Shop Assistant
6-month position £12.20 / hour + benefits
If youre enthusiastic, a great team player and fantastic with customers, wed love you to join our team in Broughton-in-Furness.
Youll be flexible to work in our Grocers, Butchers and Bakery and well teach you everything you need to know whats important is that youre willing to roll your sleeves up and get stuck in! Youll need to be able to work between 20 and 40 hours a week (including some Saturdays).
Responsibilities
As a Shop Assistant, youll:
- Give everyone who walks through the door a fantastic level of customer service, whether by serving bread & cakes, meat or groceries
- Make sure the shops are always looking their best
- Ensure stock levels are spot on no stock-outs but no out-of-date stock either!
- Complete daily checklists and paperwork accurately (including end-of-day procedures)
Attributes
Youll be friendly and flexible, and youll need to have:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills youll enjoy meeting and chatting to customers
- The ability to use your initiative but also know when to ask for help
- A willingness to cover a wide range of tasks and help with whatever needs doing
- Good numeracy skills confident dealing with cash and calculating change
- The ability to work under pressure and juggle a number of different tasks
