Job Description
On behalf of our client, a leader in waste-based renewables and fuel supply, we are seeking a Mechanical Technician for a 1–3-month contract based at their Seal Sands site.
This is a full-time position working 07:00-15:00, Monday to Friday for £21.97 per hour, with overtime opportunities at additional rates..
This role involves providing front-line maintenance support to maximise biodiesel production efficiency. You’ll work on pumps, centrifuges, and mechanical systems while identifying and delivering planned maintenance schedules.
Key responsibilities:
* Leading and overseeing maintenance tasks as directed by the Maintenance Manager
* Reading and interpreting mechanical schematic drawings for equipment assembly
* Fostering a collaborative team environment while also excelling independently
* Creating and reviewing risk assessments (RAMs)
* Participating in planned shutdowns and providing out-of-hours support as needed
Requirements:
* Served mechanical apprenticeship
* Proven technical competence in mechanical systems
* Strong teamwork and communication skills
* Ability to work independently or as part of a team
* Excellent attention to detail and a strong safety record
