Job Description
Clearfield Recruitment have partnered with a leading construction company, delivering high-quality residential and commercial projects across the UK. They are currently looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team based in Ipswich.
You will play a pivotal role in managing the financial aspects of various projects, ensuring they are completed within budget, on time, and to the highest standard. You will lead a team, liaise with key stakeholders, and provide expert guidance on cost management, procurement, and contract administration.
Key responsibilities of this role will include:
* Oversee cost control, financial reporting, and cash flow management across multiple projects.
* Prepare tender documents, contracts, budgets, and reports.
* Lead the procurement process, including selecting and managing subcontractors.
* Conduct risk assessments and identify opportunities for cost savings.
* Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
* Manage the valuation of variations and oversee the preparation of final accounts.
* Collaborate with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
* Mentor and guide junior team members.
Requirements for this position include:
* Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
* Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with at least 2 years in a senior role.
* Strong understanding of construction contracts, particularly JCT and NEC.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
* Proven experience managing high-value projects from inception to completion.
* Proficiency in cost management software and MS Office.
* Chartered status (RICS or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.
