Role: Project Controls Manager
Staff or Contract
Location: Warrington on site 3 days a week with occasional travel to Berkshire site for meetings
Our client is seeking to recruit a Project Controls Manager based in Warrington on site 3 days a week with occasional travel to Berkshire site for meetings.
Key Responsibilities
As a Project Controls Manager, you will be expected to control, oversee, monitor and report against a project, or projects, within a highly regulated industry. You will be working on a flagship programme with a budget in the hundreds of millions. The candidate will report to and work with the Project Manager as part of a fully integrated team.
The candidate will have a broad knowledge and skill set across all Project Controls disciplines, preferably holding a cost bias. This will include, but not be limited to:
Lead project cost and schedule review meetings.
Lead development of work breakdown structures and help ensure that project coding is effectively used for all cornerstone applications.
Review performance trends, prepare analysis and cost impact, and monthly project performance reports.
Establish and maintain customer relationships.
Review project trend and change and assume responsibility for elevating to the appropriate board.
Compilation and management of the Project Estimate At Completion (EAC) with views on Total Project Lifecycle and Financial Year reporting.
Cost monitoring at different phases of the project to integrate resource and contract driven costs into one set of data.
Analysis of resourcing levels and the resulting cost drivers.
Integrate cost and schedule data and reporting with the accounting and management information systems.
Presentation of data in clear and concise formats consistent with the clients reporting requirements and timescales. These will all follow Earned Value Management processes.
Understand the relationship between schedule, risk, contract management and cost to ensure accurate spend forecasts.
Analyse and use schedule and cost data to identify key project issues
Attending general project and progress meetings to gather required information to inform forecasting.
Introducing innovative techniques to improve the flow of information and data
Variance analysis and structured input into project reports
Essential Qualifications And Skills
Educated to relevant degree level or equivalent
Must be self-motivated and able to work as part of a wider PMO team
Experience in nuclear industry preferable
Experience of working under NEC3/4 preferable
Confident communicator with ability to present to senior levels of an organisation
