Engineering Manager - Java/Golang

Job Description : Responsibilities : Full-Spectrum Ownership : - Take end-to-end responsibility for product development and delivery, leading the charge from concept to launch. Technical Architect : - Define and own the technical architecture for assigned projects, making critical engineering decisions that ensure scalability, performance, and maintainability. Agile Collaboration : - Work closely with designers, developers, growth managers, and product managers to estimate, plan, and prioritize projects within an agile development framework. Leadership & Mentorship : - Lead and mentor a team of talented backend engineers, fostering their professional growth and empowering them to tackle complex problems. - Provide timely and constructive feedback to guide their development. Tech & People Skills : - Be a rare breed who excels in both technical expertise and people management. - Deliver exceptional backend code while motivating and inspiring your team. Cross-Functional Communication : - Bridge the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders, clearly articulating engineering concepts and driving the overall direction of our backend development efforts. Domain Expertise : - Develop a deep understanding of one or more product domains, becoming a subject matter expert who can guide strategic decision-making within your area of focus. Requirements : Proven Leadership : - 5 years of experience in a backend engineering role, with at least 3 years of experience in a leadership capacity. - Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and mentor high-performing engineering teams. Technical Proficiency : - Strong expertise in backend development using at least one of the following languages : Golang, Java, Node.js, Python. - Familiarity with other languages is a plus. Agile Methodology : - Experience working in an agile development environment, with a strong understanding of estimation, planning, and iterative delivery processes. Communication Skills : - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling clear and concise communication with both technical and non-technical audiences. Performance Management : - Proven ability to recruit, manage, and develop technical teams. - Experience in conducting performance reviews and providing constructive feedback.
