Job Description

Boden Group have partnered with a Nationwide Facilities management group who are looking for a Business Development Director to join their team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate to play a central role in shaping and delivering growth strategy in the UK. We are looking for an exceptional sales professional, who puts the customers at the heart of their approach.

You will be able to demonstrate the skills required to build quality business relationships based on trust. You will be comfortable developing relationships from cold leads, through to customers. Your approach will be highly consultative and focused on understanding real business issues, proposing solutions in partnership with the customer, and doing this in a way that is more compelling than our competitors.

You will have a comprehensive understanding of the latest developments and trends within the facilities management marketplace, as well as a working knowledge of the service offerings of the leading suppliers.

This is a high-profile role with the organisation and will be ideally suited to a result orientated professional.

Principle accountabilities:

To build and mature a pipeline, in line the companies agreed sales plan
To contributing directly to the delivery of growth targets
You will lead on strategic opportunities, close deals, and collaborate with the wider teams to win and kick off large scale, multi-discipline projects
Initially you will support the senior team in client pitches and presentations for both new and existing customers, providing feedback to development and account management teams
After of period of orientation to ensure you have had the opportunity to fully understand the organisation and our approach, you will close deals and directly contribute to the high growth of the business
You will negotiate and successfully close sales opportunities to meet and exceed agreed sales targets
You will raise the company and business profile through active networking and involvement with industry events
Very importantly, you will keep up to date with industry developments (around service and product offerings), maintaining awareness of competitor activity and market trends
Skills and experience required:

Ideally educated to degree level or similar
Previous experience in a consultative sales role, with proven success of delivering profitable business growth is essential.
Previous experience of private sector selling/ bidding – developing a clear understanding of client needs, designing completing service solutions, and helping to create strategies that meet those needs within winning proposals is essential
Previous experience within hard services facilities management is essential
Previous experience working with government frameworks would be advantageous.
Results-focused, ambitious, and able to work from own initiative.
Keen commercial awareness, tenacious, progressive, and driven.
Strong presentation skills, with the ability to build relationships and communicate effectively across stakeholder groups
Strong organizational and project management skills
Naturally inquisitive, a keen problem solver and solution-focused thinker
High degree of mobility to travel extensively across the UK
