Job Description

Pride Health is hiring for a Phlebotomist to support our client’s medical facility based in Titusville, FL. This is a full-time contract of 3+ months of contract with high possibilities of extension or conversion to permanent and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!


Position : Phlebotomist

Duration : 3+ months with possibilities of extension

Location : Titusville, FL

Shift : 1st Shift, Monday through Friday, 6 am - 3 pm. Rotating Saturday 7am - 11am


Summary:

The main function of a phlebotomist is to assist in performing various assigned duties, troubleshooting, training, and making workflow recommendations.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
  • Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
  • Properly explain in a clear but courteous manner the process of the venipuncture (blood drawing) and or other specimen collection (ex. urine or fecal) as required.
  • Demonstrate technique/s using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
  • Matches laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
  • Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
  • Check all test requisitions or computer labels against the script to ensure 100% correct.
  • Package specimens for transport.
  • Stores specimen samples according to the required temperature, places samples in appropriate collection container/ tube, accurately labels and follows different procedures as outlined by specific protocols deemed necessary for transport to maintain the integrity of the specimen.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Required Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.

*Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.
