Self-Pay Collections Representative

Pride Health is hiring a Self-Pay Collections Representative for one of its clients in Massachusetts.

This is a 3-month contract with the possibility of hiring with competitive pay and benefits.

Location – Worcester, Massachusetts (01655)

Length of assignment – 3 months (Possibility of hiring)

Pay range - $22 - $28 per hour.

Shift – Mon – Fri - 8:00 am - 4:00 pm (includes a 30 min break)

Job Summary

Initiates’ collection activity on outstanding self-pay balances. Relevant categories include high dollar self-pay balances for both hospitals and physicians, payment plans, bankruptcy, Victims of Violent crime, estates, insurance information, financial counseling, settlements, and prompt pay discounts.

Major Responsibilities:

• Initiates telephone calls to patients/guarantors regarding the resolution of their self-pay balances.
• Initiates telephone calls to insurance companies regarding the resolution of self-pay balances.
• Communicate with hospital clinics/doctor offices regarding the resolution of self-pay balances.
• Works assigned work queues within established protocols.
• Responds to patient/responsible party inquiries/requests received via telephone, mail, and in person by accessing the billing system.

Requirements

• High School Diploma Required.
• Three years of relevant work experience, preferably in telephone collections.
• Thorough knowledge of third-party insurance and medical terminology.
• Computer skills. Ability to work independently within established functional guidelines and withstand the pressure that may arise when dealing with the public, physicians/clinic, and staff.
