We are looking for contract role in the Client Data Chapter, as a Data Modeler, who will work closely with our data architects, data analysts, and business stakeholders to understand their data requirements and translate them into logical and physical data models.

As data is deemed as a strategic asset for Bank of Singapore, this candidate should be a thought leader who will understand and solve identified business problems from curated datasets.

Join our team as a Data Modeler and play a key role in designing and implementing data models that support our organization's data-driven initiatives. You will also be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of our data models, as well as maintaining their documentation and metadata. Your expertise in data modelling tools and techniques, as well as your ability to communicate complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders, will be critical to the success of our data-driven projects.

You will support the Client Data Owners and the Client Data Steward in the following:

MAIN DUTIES:
  • Develop and maintain complex data models for business data analysis and reporting purposes.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and design Client Data model for the new Client Lifecycle Management System that align with business needs.
  • Evaluate and recommend data modelling tools and technologies to improve efficiency and accuracy of data modelling processes.
  • Create and maintain data dictionaries and metadata repositories to ensure consistency and integrity of data models.
  • Identify and resolve data model performance issues to optimize database performance and enhance overall system functionality.
  • Document and communicate data model designs and standards to ensure understanding and compliance across the organization.
  • Stay current with industry best practices and trends in data modelling and incorporate new techniques and methodologies into our client data modelling processes.
  • Ensure appropriate and confidential handling/sharing of sensitive client data
  • Identify red flags and escalate in line with policy and procedures
  • Ensure timely follow-up and/or escalation to stakeholders
  • Responsible for completing delegated and ad-hoc tasks within the established timeframes .

Qualifications

Requirements
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer/data science technical or related experience.
  • Strong understanding of SQL and data modelling concepts
  • Proficiency in data modelling tools such as Erwin or PowerDesigner.
  • Experience in designing and implementing database structures.
  • Ability to create and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
  • Familiarity with data warehousing and ETL processes
  • Knowledge of industry best practices for data modelling and database design
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyse data requirements.
  • Experience in performance tuning and optimization of database queries.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Clear communicator, with the ability to articulate ideas with data.
  • Fine eye for detail with the ability to work with structured and unstructured data, including internal and external data.
  • Experience with operating in a corporate environment and stakeholder management.
  • Prior exposure to wealth management, asset management or portfolio management is a plus.
  • Strong results driven personality with an innovative spirit.
