Key Responsibilities : - Write Efficient and Accurate SQL Queries : - Focus on developing SQL queries that are both efficient and accurate to support application data retrieval and manipulation. Create and Maintain Stored Procedures : - Develop complex stored procedures to automate business logic and enhance database driven application performance. Write and Debug SQL Functions and Triggers : - Develop functions and triggers to handle complex logic in database operations and ensure business rules are enforced within the database. ETL Process Development : - Design and manage Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes using SQL Server. - Integration Services (SSIS) or other ETL tools, ensuring data integration from multiple sources. SQL Jobs Management : - Schedule and manage SQL Server Agent jobs to automate routine tasks, data imports/exports, and maintenance activities. Collaborate with Development Teams : - Work closely with software developers to integrate SQL queries, stored procedures, and ETL processes into applications and ensure database-driven features are optimized. Query Performance Optimization : - Analyze slow-running queries, optimize them for performance, and apply indexing techniques to improve efficiency. Documentation : - Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for database structures, stored procedures, SQL jobs, and ETL workflows. Required Skills : Proficiency in SQL Server Development : - Strong expertise in SQL Server database development, including writing queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers. ETL Process Management : - Hands-on experience in designing and managing ETL processes, with a strong preference for SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS). SQL Jobs and Automation : - Experience with SQL Server Agent for creating, scheduling, and managing automated jobs. Query Optimization and Performance Tuning : - Deep understanding of query execution plans, indexing strategies, and techniques for improving query performance. Additional/Desired Skills : - Database Administration (DBA) Tasks : - Knowledge of database administration tasks such as managing backups, ensuring data integrity, implementing access control, and maintaining database security. Experience with SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) : - Familiarity with SSMS tools for managing, troubleshooting, and monitoring databases Version Control for Database Scripts : - Experience with version control for database scripts and deployment practices in SQL Server environments.
