Venture Contracts are recruiting for an Estimator or Assistant Estimator on behalf of a prominent contractor operating in the commercial and public sectors. This contractor focuses on refurbishment, new builds, and maintenance projects, with contract sizes exceeding £10 million across Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, and Northamptonshire.
In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with the Senior Estimator, receiving hands-on training to help you develop the skills required to progress into a more senior position.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Researching costs of materials, transport, labour, and equipment.
2. Obtaining supplier and contractor quotes within deadlines.
3. Assessing risk levels for various projects.
4. Assisting with new contract bids and supporting buyers.
5. Preparing and submitting cost estimates and quotations.
6. Monitoring project costs to ensure alignment with estimates.
7. Building and maintaining strong relationships with contractors and suppliers.
Requirements:
* Experience in estimating or procurement in the construction industry preferred.
* Strong analytical and communication skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and estimating software.
