Job Description

My client is a multi-disciplined contractor who have a strong presence across both build and civils sectors throughout the North, delivering a range of quality projects across the education, industrial, health and commercial sectors up to c£20m.

Due to their continuous growth, they are seeking to bolster their Planning department with an individual who at an Intermediate level to work closely with and assist the senior members of the team in the planning and scheduling of construction projects
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using industry-standard planning software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project)
Coordinate with project managers and site teams to gather information and update schedules
Monitor project progress and identify potential delays or issues; provide recommendations for mitigation
Prepare and present progress reports, including critical path analysis and resource allocation.
Assist in the preparation of tender programs and construction methodologies
Collaborate with project teams to ensure compliance with project specifications, budgets, and timelines
Analyse and report on project performance, identifying areas for improvement
Support the project risk management process, including the identification and analysis of risks and opportunities
Participate in project meetings and contribute to the resolution of planning-related issues
Maintain accurate and up-to-date planning documentation and records
Qualifications and Experience:
A degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in construction planning, preferably within a main contracting construction environment
Proficiency in planning software such as Primavera P6, MS Project, or equivalent
Strong understanding of construction processes, methodologies, and best practices
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of construction contracts and experience in contract administration is an advantage
