Quality Engineer

CM Medical has partnered with a prominent company in the dental industry providing high-quality dental products and services. We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer.

The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) ensures suppliers deliver high-quality parts, materials, and services. This role is a vital link between supplier quality, incoming inspection, and production activities, assisting in qualifying suppliers. The SQE investigates, analyzes, and resolves supplier quality issues through audits, defect trend analysis, and leading continuous improvement plans. Additionally, the SQE represents Supplier Quality on product development teams.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Oversee the Material Review Board (MRB) activities, ensure proper dispositioning of non-conforming products, assign responsibilities, and ensure Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs) are addressed and closed effectively.
• Utilize data-driven methods to improve key quality metrics, such as First Pass Yield.
• Collaborate with Sourcing/Purchasing to regularly report on supplier performance and implement timely corrective actions.
• Conduct audits to ensure compliance, eliminate waste, and drive continuous improvement.
• Monitor, communicate, and enhance key supply chain KPIs, including Supplier First Pass Yield and supplier-related complaints.
• Lead problem-solving and root cause analysis activities with suppliers to prevent non-conformance recurrence.
• Strategically lead projects to enhance supplier capabilities and ensure consistent requirement fulfillment.
• Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining procedures, work instructions, and forms for supplier approval and maintenance.
• Participate in product/component design reviews, ensuring early supplier involvement.
• Actively participate in cross-functional teams.
• Perform other assigned tasks.

Requirements:

• A 4-year technical degree in Engineering or a related technical field is required, with a preference for Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering.
• Green or Black Belt designation is preferred.
• At least 3 years of experience in Quality within a regulated manufacturing environment.
• Preferred training includes SPC, Lean, Six Sigma, and DMAIC problem-solving methods.
• Excellent team player with a proven track record.
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple quality engineering projects simultaneously.
• Strong skills in presenting and training for both internal and external audiences.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written, oral, and listening skills.
• Proficient in using spreadsheets, databases, presentation software, and communication tools like email and web conferencing systems.
• Understanding of SAP, with previous SAP experience preferred.
