Automotive Interiors Engineer

One of the world's largest automotive OEM's is currently recruiting for Cockpit Module / Console / Interior Door Trim Engineers with an understanding of design for customer, design for manufacture and idea generation, with a distinct focus on cost competitiveness, functional leadership, data analysis and reporting. Based in Bedfordshire, you will be part of an enthusiastic team of Development Engineers, on a contract basis

Responsibilities of the Automotive Interiors Engineer include:

* Lead development of Interiors to Quality / Cost / Delivery
* Preparation of detailed cost reports
* Managing & Reporting the Costs v Budget & overseeing the Supplier Timing Plan
* Lead concern investigations
* Manage suppliers
* Communicate cross-functionally with key stakeholders including Styling, Product Planning, Purchase & other Design Sections
* Lifecycle cost management
* Competitor and internal benchmarking

Background and Experience required for the Automotive Interiors Engineer position:

* Ideally degree educated in a relevant design / engineering qualification
* Previous automotive Interiors development experience
* Knowledge of interior cabin parts / modules
* Cost breakdown skills
* Knowledge of manufacturing processes is preferred
* Good Communication & Reporting Skills to make Decision Analysis Tables / Matrices
* Competent in CAD interrogation
* Proficient in Microsoft office skills

You will hold a valid driving licence and have the capability to travel globally.
