Job Description
SEN Teaching Assistant Required in Edgware (Northwest London) - Autism & Complex Needs
Prospero are currently recruiting for an SEN Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted GOOD School (age 16+) in the Edgware area, who specialise in supporting students with needs including Autism and additional Complex Needs.
The position will involve providing classroom support to students in small groups and on a 1:1 basis, access learning throughout the week with various subjects across the curriculum, this will be a full-time, long-term position starting immediately.
Daily Rate: 100 per day
Location: North London (Edgware)
Contract Type: Long Term
Start Date: Immediate
Duration: 5 days a week
Class Size: 7 - 13 students
The successful applicants will have:
· Previous experience working with Autism & Complex Needs
· Previous experience managing challenging behaviour
· Ideally experience working with children and/or young people
· Valid and enhanced child or child and adult DBS check
The role will consist of:
· Offering support to the class teacher
· Participating in various learning activities including cooking, shopping, life skills, community-based learning etc.
· Provide support for individuals and groups of pupils, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities
· Assist with the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans
· Building good student - teacher rapport
· Supporting in aspects of Personal Care
To be eligible for this role you must have an Enhanced Child or Child & Adult Workforce barred list DBS Certificate registered on the update service.
