Job Description

The incumbent is responsible for coordinating the activities of the Contrecoeur project under the supervision of the Senior Director, Contrecoeur Project. The person in this role plans, measures, controls and coordinates all activities related to the Contrecoeur project in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. The incumbent ensures the governance of the Contrecoeur project, including the management of the project execution schedule and the deployment of adapted project management practices. The key responsibilities of this position are as follows: Be actively involved in setting up the project for the purposes of possible financial closure, in relation to the procurement processes already underway, the review and negotiation of the numerous contracts to be signed in DBFOM mode (design/build/finance/operate/maintain) and in design-build mode and contracts with the various MPA partners. Organize and coordinate the work of resources and the execution of deliverables in compliance with the schedule and budget. Develop and implement working methods to meet project objectives. Support teams in identifying risks and opportunities and mitigation measures. Support teams in identifying issues and mitigation measures to be implemented. Plan, prioritize and coordinate the activities of the project office. Coordinate project governance in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Analyze the progress of work and, if necessary, make the necessary recommendations regarding corrective actions to be taken and ensure their implementation. Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to enable project monitoring. Identify and monitor activities on the critical path of the schedule as well as those with a low margin. Define, review and update the project execution schedule and coordinate the identification of critical milestones. Skills sought for this position : Act on principle Think conceptually Update strategy Bring your whole self to work Exert charismatic influence Identify and develop talent Be customer-focused Navigate turbulence Lead with conviction Foster lasting professional relationships Qualifications University degree in a relevant discipline (engineering, project management, business administration) Master’s degree in project management or PMP designation will be considered an asset Ten (10) to fifteen (15) years of experience in managing large-scale projects Mastery of the PMI methodology Recognized expertise in planning, coordination and project control Proven ability to provide leadership and provide direction regarding the development and implementation of operational processes Sound judgment regarding issues and people Strong interpersonal skills, diplomacy and persuasiveness Highly developed organizational skills and strong analytical mind Experience working with consultants. Knowledge of the maritime transport sector and/or infrastructure management is an asset Experience in cost, trend and risk analysis Experience in contract and procurement management Excellent oral and written communication skills, in French and English Proficiency in the Office suite.
