Khalsa School Old Yale Road is seeking candidates for one Physical Education teacher position who will be the athletic director for the school. Khalsa School Old Yale Road is a Sikh faith based school located on 10677-124 Street, Surrey, BC. Academic teachers do not have to be observers of the faith. Currently, we have one Physical Education Teacher opening for the new 2024-2025 school year starting August 29, 2024. We recognize North American teaching experience. If you are looking for a classroom of your own for Fall 2024, we have the following Physical Education Teacher position: Physical Education Teacher position Start Date: August 29, 2024 Physical & Health Education 6-7 blocks Salary: Starting salary of $61,500/year (over 10 months) Only offered to CoQ teachers or teachers who have a completed application with the Teacher Certification Branch (BC) for a teacher with a Certificate of Qualification (CoQ) Teaching experience in Canada is recognized for a possible higher starting salary for CoQ teachers Duties: - Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that adhere to the curriculum -Coaching sports teams (basketball, volleyball, soccer, Track & Field etc.) - Utilize a variety of teaching methods to ensure all students understand the material - Create a positive and inclusive learning environment - Assess student progress and provide feedback - Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall learning experience - Participate in parent-teacher meetings and school events Experience: - Bachelor's degree in Education or related field - BC teaching certification - Proven experience teaching Physical and Health Education as per the BC curriculum or related subjects (preferable) -Experience coaching Elementary or Secondary school students - Strong organizational skills to manage lesson plans and grading effectively - Excellent communication skills to engage with students, parents, and colleagues - Ability to tailor teaching methods for diverse learning styles Skills: - Proficient in proofreading educational materials - Classroom management expertise - Effective communication and writing skills - Experience in tutoring or special education is a plus - Strong organizational abilities to handle multiple tasks efficiently Joining our team as a Physical and Health Education Teacher offers the opportunity to inspire young minds, contribute to their academic growth, and make a positive impact on their educational journey.
